TOSHIBA TEC & Norcom
Group installs new tailor made EPoS system for Inverness
based Osbournes Nightclub.
The Challenge
Renowned
for it’s great acoustics (accomplished by ensuring
the venue is totally sealed), Osbournes Nightclub
needed an EPoS system that was planned well in advance
to ensure that cabling allowed easy access for future
maintenance.
Faced with this challenge, Norcom
Group liaised closely with the club’s management
six months prior to it’s opening, to design
and configure a tailor made solution that would provide
an installation which would guarantee future maintenance
was not a problem, and give the management the control
system the club needed.
The Solution
Norcom
Group chose Datasym.POS point of sale software to
run on TOSHIBA TEC’s ST-60 integrated touchscreen
terminals due to the numerous features and ease of
use of the software, and the build quality and reliability
of the hardware.
For a smooth transition
from the old cash register system, extensive staff
/ management training was undertaken by a team of
Norcom software engineers prior to the opening and
the same team was on site for ‘go live’
night.
The Benefits
The
real benefit from the solution has been in the improved
management control with full reports on stock, pricing
and club performance readily available. With up to
date and accurate sales information available, the
management can quickly and easily monitor the performance
of different lines, cost of sales promotions and overall
financial performance of the club, confident in the
accuracy of the information!
Commenting on the solution, William
Spark, General Manager said “Norcom have designed
and configured a system which is easy to use, reliable
and provides all the information to give us the management
control vital to run the club as efficiently and profitably
as possible. In our industry back up support with
out of hours cover is essential and the careful planning
gone into the cabling installation gives us the assurance
that future maintenance work can be carried out quickly
and easily. We will certainly be using the same system
for any future venues.”
