Photocopier-based Patient Menu System

The Aficio range of digital photocopiers from Ricoh provides the basis for the printing and scanning of individual patient menus and the export of results to Datsym's Menumark software.

The photocopier is used to print patient menus at a cost of 0.55 pence per copy (excluding stationery). After completion, the returned menus are scanned at a rate of about 20 per minute and images are imported by Menumark for processing, recording and detailed reporting.

In addition to this valuable function, the Aficio also acts as an office photocopier and as an online printer for your PC or LAN system.

Purchase costs depend upon exact configuration but for hospitals, the equipment is subject to very beneficial government discounts. As an example, model 1022 can be purchased for about £6,500 plus VAT to include the machine, the Menumark interface and the scanning software. Menumark will be additional to this if not already installed.
